Losing money is something that is not in the agenda for anyone, but sometimes not knowing where you’re losing money is the most frustrating part.

As air indoor pollution becomes more of a hazard, the state of our indoor air quality is becoming more of a health concern. According to the American Lung Association, “Indoor Air Pollution is wide spread. You are more likely to get sick from pollution in your home and office than from pollution in the air outside." Poor indoor air quality can lead to a number of health problems such as respiratory illnesses. As well, microorganisms such as mold and bacteria can be harmful to one’s health.

With all the hustle of the holidays and the confusion of the ‘fiscal cliff’ discussions one of the benefits may have been overlooked and with tax time upon us it is nice to get another credit if you can.

I have been in the customer service business in one way or another for most of my adult life. I am told I am good at it and enjoy talking with folks and helping solve their problems. I can honestly say that most issues can be easily resolved if both parties are honest and listen to each other. Over the years I have found that there are certain TYPES of people and depending on what TYPE they are, it will affect the outcome of any issue. The following is MY breakdown of the consumer market.

Today is going to be one for the record books. After taking some time away from the BLOG due to the holiday and the EXTREME heat keeping us so busy I am back. The topic for the day is WATER and what it means to us. First let us remember that WATER is one of the basic elements OR building blocks of life. We also have WIND, EARTH & FIRE. These four, made up of smaller elements can keep us alive and happy.

This summer I will cross a milestone in my life. As the day approaches I have had some time to consider how things have changed and how things have stayed the same. I have also decided to make some changes in my own life in an effort to better myself.

When last we spoke we had discussed the wonderful early spring and the onset of early spring allergies. As the old saying goes, April showers bring May flowers. Well that is true; it also brings lots of yard work. Now I love being outside, and I want my yard to look as nice as possible. But as I get older I find myself less likely to want to start the never ending task of weeding!!

When last we spoke my wife had won a battle over the air conditioner. It seems that spring has decided to show up two months early. As a matter of interest the temperatures were near summer like for a couple of days. With the onset of such an early spring it leads to the next major skirmish of the season. You see with all this wonderful weather everything started growing and blooming at a rapid pace. Along with all this beauty comes POLLEN!

Somebody please tell me that it’s actually June 19th, not MARCH 19th! I struggled for days with my lovely wife; you see I would NOT turn on the A/C. I know it’s the oldest battle in a home, right after the toilet seat thing. But COME ON, its only MARCH and I was just getting used to having the furnace off for a few days. I was able to get my way for about four days and nights. That all came to an end when she started hitting me with a pillow in bed the other night because our alarm clock / thermostat screamed at her it was 76 degrees in the bedroom.

Do you know the end of that slogan. Most folks do, its Pay me now OR Pay me later. Fram Oil filters used that slogan and it still holds true today. In a lot of ways it is even more true today. I have discovered since joining Lindley Heating and Cooling that one thing IS true. The majority of people treat there Furnace and Air Conditioner just like they do any other major appliance. Once it is purchased and installed they rarely give it another thought.

As someone with no real knowledge of the world of heating and cooling I am always learning new things. My expertise has been in customer service and I enjoy working with people. I have also learned a lot about the human condition. One of the many things I have learned is that when it comes to homeowners we fall into TWO categories. The first are the ones that want everything to work and perform the best it can and have no problem calling someone for help. The second group just goes along in life never giving a second thought to how things work or making an effort to maintain anything. The good news is we LOVE both types of folks !
