Job Stories From Marion County, IN
Leaky Ducts in Indianapolis, IN

Irene C. of Indianapolis, IN had just bought a new home and was in need of duct sealing solutions. She began to remember a Channel 8 special she had seen the previous year featuring Indiana Home Comfort Solutions and decided to give them a call.

Indiana Home Comfort Solutions was able to effectively seal the ductwork in Irene's home using Aeroseal duct sealing. This prevented air and moisture from leaking through cracks and gaps in the duct work. This solution increased Irene's home comfort by providing even temperatures throughout all levels of her home!

Bad Capacitor in Indianapolis, IN

Thomas M. of Lebanon, IN noticed that his heating and cooling unit was not working properly. In attempt to heat his home, Thomas noticed that the unit would not cycle properly. Indiana Home Comfort Solutions came out the check the problem.

As it turned out, the unit had a bad capacitor that needed to be replaced. The capacitor is an electrical component that stores energy and releases the charge to start-up the unit’s fan. By replacing the capacitor, the unit can now properly complete cycles and properly heat the home.

High Heating Bills Resolved in Indianapolis, IN

Kurt C. was not having a great winter. He had rooms in his house that were always too cold, he could feel drafts of air coming in through the light fixtures, and worst of all, his heating bills were too high! Being a handy craftsman, Kurt took it upon himself to resolve the issues. He was able to determine that the cold bedrooms were located over the crawlspace, so there must be something going on there, and with the house being built in 1969 the attic was presumably poorly insulated.

Searching the Dr. Energy Saver Dealer webpage, he decided Indiana Home Comfort Solutions would be the best fit for the job. A certified representative, Steve Lindley, met with Kurt to discuss his concerns and together they found a solution. Steve's inspection of the home determined that the fiberglass batt insulation in the attic needed to be replaced with a much more efficient insulation. Additionally, there were large areas in the attic that were not properly insulated at all, such as the kitchen soffit and can lights. The kitchen soffit drywall was exposed in the attic, meaning that drywall was the only thing protecting the interior against exterior conditions. This allowed plenty of air to leak down into the kitchen. The same can be said about the can lights. Looking from the attic, you could see the kitchen light. This meant there wasn't anything blocking air from leaking in and out. For the crawlspace, fiberglass batt insulation was found in between the floor joists and a plastic cover had been placed on the ground.

The IHCS took the old fiberglass insulation out of the attic and crawlspace. Both areas were air sealed tight with two-part expanding spray foam and cellulose insulation was blown in the attic. Specifically designed covers were installed over the kitchen soffit and can lights. Both covers are flame retardant, which allows blown insulation to cover material, and air sealed tight with spray foam. Kurt was very happy with the results and happy to see his heating bills drop!

Whats that sound? in Clermont, IN

Austin from Indiana Home Comfort Solutions went out to perform a tune-up in Clermont, IN. Everything was going well until he heard an unexpected noise from the air conditioning unit at the house next door. Austin got with his customer and she explained that the house next door was actually her rental property and asked Austin to take a look. Once he finished the tune-up, he went next door and started inspecting the unit. The homeowner explained that another company had came out a couple weeks prior to change the filters and perform a tune-up. However, when Austin pulled the filter out, they were both shocked. The filter was completely black! He cleaned the unit, changed the filter, and performed a full inspection. Within an hour Austin had the unit up and running again. And this time, without the crazy noises!!
